This is a lowland species which inhabits Peru and reaches an adult size of approximately ¾ of an inch. They do well in groups, but care should be to watch for any aggressive behavior and a frog may need to be separated. This species tends to be shy and is arboreal, it will often be hanging out in bromeliad leaves. They typically reach sexual maturity at 8-12 months. They typically lay 3-6 eggs at a time in a bromeliad, film canister or leaf litter and will lay clutches every 5-10 days. Eggs take anywhere from 10-14 days to hatch while metamorphosis takes approximately 70 days. They can live up to 10 years in captivity.
